What are LiFi airplanes? | Airplane mode on your phone is called that for the most obvious reason. It's the setting we have to activate on our phones when we travel by plane. And, although having the system connected doesn't disrupt the electrical system or telecommunications to the point of causing an accident, it does affect communication between the crew and air traffic control.
For this reason, other technologies have been investigated that allow us to connect to the Internet during the flight (it seems that we are increasingly unable to spend a little while without it).

This term mixes the words light (light) and wifi (wireless connection). Or light + fidelity (depends on the medium you consult). It is a different type of communication than Wi-Fi since it does so with radio frequency waves and the new system uses the closest visible, ultraviolet or infrared light.
This means that LiFi is much faster than WiFi. Its transmission speed is higher as well as its bandwidth.
It is not known yet, but we will begin to hear it. And, if not, at the time.

And as it is feared that WiFi interferes on planes, LiFi technology is beginning to be implemented on these trips. It does not affect communication devices since it does not use radio frequency.
In 2019 it was already rumored that AirFrance planes would use these systems, but it would need an adapter that the mobile or tablet could convert the LED light signal from the cabin lamps into an Internet connection, because these electronic devices, at the moment, do not have the Necessary photoreceptors included.
