The second coming of Christ
The second coming of Christ is not a topic that refers to a rumor or something extracted from a legend, on the contrary, it is something that will happen. And when it is said that it will happen it is because it is a reality, the Lord Jesus Christ himself revealed this promise to his first disciples before leaving and being at the side of God the Father.
John 14:3 (DHH): And after I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and take you to be with me , so that you may be where I am.
Jesus said these words to his disciples when he was still walking with them carrying out his ministry on earth. But later and after his departure to heaven already resurrected, angels of God reconfirm to the disciples the second coming of Christ:
Acts 1:10-11 (DHH): 10 And as they gazed intently into the sky , watching Jesus go , two men dressed in white stood beside them 11 and said, “Men of Galilee, why do you stand looking into the sky? This same Jesus, who was among you and has been taken up into heaven, will come back in the same way you have seen him go into heaven.”
For whom does Christ come at his second coming?
But, if the first coming of the Son of God was to exercise his ministry on earth, impart his teachings about the Kingdom of Heaven and make God's divine purpose fulfill. What would be the purpose of the second coming of Christ?
The answer to this question is given to Jesus to his disciples: "I will come again to take you with me". But for whom does Jesus really come again to take them together with his Father?
Christ says it well in the book of revelations in his message to the churches (Revelation 3: 1-21), that is, to each one of those who make up the church of Jesus Christ. If we want to be a part of that church that follows Jesus Christ to be caught up by the Lord, we must stand firm on the true path of eternal life, with the goal of obtaining a place with Him:
Revelation 3:7 (DHH): -To the angel of the church in Philadelphia write: These are the words of him who is holy and true, who holds the key of David , who opens no one can shut and shuts no one can open:
7:11 I am coming soon . Hold on to what you have , so that no one takes away your reward.
Revelation 3:7 (DHH): 21 To those who are victorious, I will give a place with me on my throne , just as I was victorious and sat down with my Father on his throne. 22 Whoever has ears, let them hear what the Spirit says to the churches!”

The apostle Paul gives us the example
The apostle Paul leaves us his example in the way he lived his Christian life. From what he could confidently express:
2 Timothy 4:7-8 (TLA): 7 I have fought to obey God in everything , and I have succeeded; I have reached the goal , and at no time have I stopped trusting God . 8 I know that God is a righteous judge and that, when he judges everyone, he will give me a crown as a reward for my obedience . And not only will he give it to me, but also to all who eagerly await his return.
What will the second coming of Christ be like?
The word of God answers this question, the Lord Jesus Christ will be seen coming in heaven:
Luke 21:27 (NIV): 27 Then the Son of man will be seen coming in a cloud with great power and glory.
It also says that we will all see them, but only if we believed and were obedient to God can we go with Him. Otherwise, the scriptures say that they will cry out for repentance for not having done so.
What will be seen and what will be heard at the next coming of Christ?
If we stop to think for a moment and with the knowledge of the word of God, Jesus during his ministry fulfilled several of the most relevant Jewish holidays. These festivals, God established in the Old Testament as a solemnity and therefore considered sacred by the people of Israel to honor and praise.
The Jewish festivals fulfilled by Christ and those that remain to be fulfilled
Seven of the Jewish holidays are the most important in the Hebrew calendar, and four of them were fulfilled by Jesus during his first coming. These four festivals of the Hebrew calendar that correspond to the spring season and that now have a biblical connotation are:
The Passover (Leviticus 23:5): Jesus fulfilled it with his death in the sacrifice of the cross of Calvary. It is the Institution of the Lord's Supper in the Gospels Matthew 26:17-29, Mark 14:12-25 and Luke 22:7-23.
Feast of the First Fruits (Leviticus 23:7): Fulfilled by Jesus through his resurrection (John 19:40-42), this happened on the day of the First Fruits, according to the Hebrew calendar.
Luke 24:1-3 (RVC): 24 Early on the first day of the week , the women went to the tomb, bringing the spices they had prepared. 2 They found the stone rolled away from the tomb , 3 and when they went in, they did not find the body of the Lord Jesus.
Leviticus 23:11: The priest shall wave the sheaf before me, so that I may accept it . He shall wave it on the day after the Sabbath.
Day of Pentecost (Leviticus 23:9-16): Jesus sends his Holy Spirit to dwell with us, (Acts 2:1-4).
Feast of Unleavened Bread (Leviticus 23:6): Represented at the burial of Jesus, (1 Corinthians 5:7-8).

The Jewish holidays before the second coming of Christ
The three Jewish festivals of the autumn season would be the ones that remain to be fulfilled prophetically. These festivals are the Feast of Trumpets or Rapture of the Church, the Feast of Tabernacles, and the Day of Atonement or the Second Coming of Christ.
Therefore, what will be heard at the second coming of Christ, and what will be seen? The scriptures tell us:
1 Thessalonians 4:16 (DHH): For the Lord will descend from heaven with a shout , with the voice of an archangel , and with the trumpet of God . And the dead in Christ will rise first;
Matthew 24:27 (RVC): For the coming of the Son of Man will be like lightning that comes from the east and is visible even to the west.
What does our Lord Jesus Christ warn us about his second coming?
Jesus during his first coming leaves us some warnings to his church. As Christians faithful to the faith and message of salvation of our Lord Jesus Christ, we must pay attention to these warnings that we can find in the sacred scriptures:
- Let us not allow ourselves to be deceived about the second coming of Christ, Matthew 24:23-26.
- Watch at all times because we do not know the exact date of Christ's return, Matthew 24:36, Matthew 24:42.
- Guard our hearts, Luke 21:34-36.
- We must be patient in waiting for the second coming of Christ, 2Peter 3:8-9.
- Living a Christian life, Titus 2:11-14
- May it not find us communing with the world, as it happened with the people at the time of the flood, Matthew 24:37-39.
Finally, we must be very clear that the second coming of Christ will be a reward for the Christian who is obedient and faithful to the Lord.
