Just like human beings, animals share many functions and a nervous system that allows them to coordinate and function in the space in which they find themselves. One of these is the relationship function in animals which will be explained in this post, as well as the systems involved to make it possible.

Relationship function in animals
Of the kingdoms of living beings you can see the relationship function in that of animals, humans, and even plants. This is one of the many functions that animals and humans have and that allows them to process and receive information from the environment in which they find themselves, knowing that there is a relationship between an animal and its environment just as there is between a human and the environment. space in which it unfolds.
This is studied by sciences such as psychology (in the case of humans) and there are even theories that look for similarities and differences between this human function and the one shown to have animals. The comparison with the nervous system of animals, their locomotor functions and other things is something common that has been done by scientists and professionals in the social sciences.
The relationship function in animals allows them to bond with the environment, the human being allows him to remain integrated within the social group in which he finds himself, it works for animals to maintain a relationship with other members of their species and even with other species. In addition to that, it makes it easier for them to have contact with the environment and to have a nervous and chemical coordination during their lives. Several systems are involved in this function:
- The nervious system
- The endocrine system
- the musculoskeletal system
- sensory receptors
The nervous system comprises several cells that allow living beings to process information from their environment by means of "electrical" signals between them, this allows them to quickly coordinate the functions carried out by their body, not only the relationship function in the animals but other functions such as those carried out by the locomotor system. The complexity of the nervous system of multicellular animals depends on each species and that differentiates them in terms of their behavior.
The only animals that do not have a nervous system are those that do not have tissues and even organs, an example of this is sponges or those that belong to the plylum placozoa and the mesozoa. Animals that do have it can interpret information from the environment and thus act in one way or another.
As for the endocrine system, this is the set of tissues and organs that the individual has, it is responsible for the development of the organs and their activity. Sending signals or stimuli so that they can communicate, it would then function as a communication network of cells within the body. Meanwhile, the musculoskeletal system (which includes muscles and bones) allows them to move, fly, walk, run, swim, etc.
As for sensory receptors or sense organs, animals as well as humans have organs that allow them to hear sounds, differentiate flavors, see lights, feel the temperature of a place or something they touch, and some species have a highly developed sense of smell. All these sensations influence the relationship function in animals with respect to their environment. For example:
- Hearing allows them to hear when a lion or another predator is approaching even when they are a bit far away.
- The view allows them to confirm that something is approaching that can affect their integrity
- Dogs and other species such as cougars, lions or tigers have a highly developed sense of smell that allows them to orient themselves and smell smoke, for example.
- Migratory species feel when temperature changes come and this is what leads them to move to warmer places (since some do not resist high or low temperatures)
The relationship function in animals not only allows them to bond with the environment in a general sense, but with it they can detect movements around, changes in the environment and this in some species reaches a level that exceeds that of humans. One of the bird characteristics is that they migrate when they detect that there are changes in the temperature of the place where they are, from other species they can detect the presence of a predator (although other important factors influence this).
