This Psalm was written by King David, where he earnestly asks for the defeat of his enemies. In the Book of Psalms it is mostly written by this king, who did not hesitate for any reason, he stopped crying out to the Lord through songs.

At the beginning of this Psalm we find that David begs the Lord for protection and to lift him up among his enemies. Our Lord gives us the protection that he always sustains us and covers us against each of our enemies.

Psalms 35:2-3

Take hold of shield and buckler,
And rise to my aid.

Draw the spear, close against my pursuers;
Say to my soul: I am your salvation.

Since the beginning of time, Jehovah has fought each of our battles, protected us, and raised us up victorious. That is why David in this Psalms asks for his great mercy. We must understand that the Old Testament is before the arrival of the Messiah, but nevertheless those who have always believed in his goodness have seen his mantle and his face among the calamities.

Psalms 35: 4-6

Let those who seek my life be ashamed and confused;
Let those who try my evil be turned back and ashamed.

Be like chaff before the wind,
And the angel of Jehovah harasses them.

May your path be dark and slippery,
And the angel of Jehovah persecute them.

We must understand that what we ask in the powerful name of Jesus will be done, we just have to live under his commandments, remain in communion and declare him Savior.

As Christians, when we feel that we can no longer deal with our enemies or with our burdens, let us hand over this weight to the Lord and He will become a burden. We know that God does not say it in his Holy Word, he who does something bad to one of mine will do it to me. We must continue with faith and in the presence of the Lord so that you live each of his great blessings.

Psalms 35:7-9

For without cause they hid their net for me in a hole;
Without a cause they dug a pit for my soul.

Break him down without his knowing it,
And the net that he hid catches him;
With brokenness fall into it.

Then my soul will rejoice in the Lord;
He will rejoice in his salvation.

As Christians we know that our Father fights for our battles, however, it is important that we recognize his glory, his honor and his greatness in the face of our problems. The Lord Jesus died on the Cross of Calvary for each one of us and our well-being. Let us have faith that the Lord listens to us and intercedes before the Father to be victorious in his Holy Name.

Psalms 35:10-12

10 All my bones will say: Jehovah, who is like you,
Who delivers the afflicted from the stronger than he,
And the poor and needy one who deprives him?

11 Wicked witnesses rise up;
What I don't know they ask me;

12 I return bad for good,
To afflict my soul.
