Below, we will explain and quote not just one prayer to the Holy Spirit for asking for a favor, but three. Pentecost sequence

Let's begin by mentioning the oldest prayer to the Holy Spirit for asking for a favor: the Pentecost prayer, also known as Veni Sancte Spiritus . Originally written in Latin, it was used to invoke the Holy Spirit. It is one of the four sequences that were retained after the liturgical reforms. It recalls how the Holy Spirit descended upon the Apostles during the religious festival of Pentecost. This event is recounted in the Acts of the Apostles, specifically in chapter two.

As for the original text, it is thought to have been written by the Archbishop of Canterbury, Stephen Langton. Come Creator Spirit

Let us continue with the prayer called “Come, Holy Spirit.” In his first meeting with the Catholic Charismatic Renewal in January 1980, Saint John Paul II admitted to his listeners that he often used this prayer to ask the Holy Spirit for a favor.
