Novena to Saint Joseph
This Novena was created by the Catholic Church to celebrate the great Saint Joseph, husband of the Virgin Mary. Because of his fear of God, he followed the mystery entrusted to him. He was a very just and faithful man, and so God entrusted him with the task of being the father of Jesus. The celebration of Saint Joseph takes place on March 19 of each year, so the novena is always held between March 10 and 18 of each year, the main objective of the novena being to be able to ask for the intervention of Saint Joseph so that he can enlighten us in every step of our lives, keep us away from evil and evil people, as well as help us find a partner in whom we can trust and build our lives giving thanks at every moment for what has been granted.
At the beginning of the novena, a specific order must be followed to be carried out properly and thus keep Saint Joseph present every day, said novena must be developed as follows:
Opening Prayer
When beginning with the novena to Saint Joseph, the first thing that must be done is a small prayer, which must be done all nine days together with the corresponding prayer of that day, with this prayer we will open the cycle of prayers for the day and invoke Saint Joseph so that he can listen to our requests, so this prayer to perform is:
“Saint Joseph, you who are the Father of Jesus and Husband of Mary, Bishop and Guardian of the Holy Church, to whom the Eternal Father entrusted the throne to care for, command, and protect the Holy Family on earth; protect us also, who, as faithful Catholics, belong to the holy family of your Son, which is the Church, and obtain for us the necessary riches of this life, and above all, the spiritual aids for eternal life.
Obtain for us mainly these three graces, that of never committing any lethal sin, primarily against chastity; that of a sincere love and devotion to Jesus and Mary, and that of a good death, absorbing the last Sacraments well. Also, grant us the special grace that each one of us asks of you in this novena. Amen"
Final Prayer
This prayer must be performed after the corresponding prayers of each day, since with this we will close the prayer cycle of the day, in such a way that the prayer to be performed is:
“Oh guardian and father of virgins, Saint Joseph to whose faithful custody the same simplicity of Christ Jesus and the Virgin of virgin Mary were entrusted; For these two beloved bail bonds, Jesus and Mary, I request and implore you to reach me (say the request), that protected from all corruption, always serve Jesus and Mary most holy with a clean soul, a pure heart and a chaste body. Amen."
First day
On the first day, the following prayer should be performed with great faith, since in this we will ask for our strength as well as that of our relatives, together with it a white candle should be lit to open the way for Saint Joseph:

Second day
For the second day, a prayer should be made mainly to ask for support for our lives and that we can obtain patience, peace and tranquility in difficult times, said prayer to be made is:
“My Jesus, just as you raised your father in the scarcity and orphanhood of Bethlehem, with your beginning, and with the songs of the Angels and gifts from the shepherds, so we also humbly ask you through the mediation of Saint Joseph, that you grant us to take with endurance our hardship and abandonment in this life, and that illusions to our spirit with your appearance and your grace, and the illusion of glory. Amen"
Third day
Upon reaching the third day of the novena, the following prayer should be performed first thing in the morning next to a white candle to demonstrate devotion to Saint Joseph:
“My Lord Jesus, just as you soothed your Father in the painful mystery of the Circumcision, taking from him the sweet name of Jesus, so we modestly implore you, through the intervention of Saint Joseph, to grant us always to utter your most holy name with love and respect, to carry it in our hearts, to honor it in our lives, and to act in deeds and words that you were our Savior and Jesus. Amen.”
Fourth day
On the fourth day of the novena to Saint Joseph, we should pray a prayer of petition so that he may support us with his grace so that we may be his servants from the moment he grants us the petition we request. The prayer for this day is as follows:
"Oh my humble Jesus, just as you strengthened your father from that pain that Simeon's prediction caused him, discovering the innumerable choir of Saints, so we modestly invoke you, through the intervention of Saint Joseph, to grant us the grace of being one of those for whom you serve, not of ruin, but of recovery, and may we faithfully belong to your grace so that we may march to your glory. Amen"
Fifth day
On the fifth day of the novena, you should have a picture or figure of Saint Joseph so that he can hear you when you make your request. This request should be made with the following prayer:
“My Jesus, just as your father took you from Bethlehem to Egypt to free you from the dictator Herod, so we urge you, through the mediation of Saint Joseph, to rescue us from those who intend to harm our souls or our bodies, give us fortification and protection in our persecutions, and in the midst of the exile of this life protect us until we fly to the homeland. Amen"
Sixth day
Already on the sixth day the following prayer should be made, asking Saint Joseph to grant us our request. The prayer for this day is as follows:
“My beautiful Jesus, just as your father kept you in Nazareth, and instead you rewarded him with your holy company for so many years, with your system and your sweet dialogue, so we beg you, on the recommendation of Saint Joseph, grant us the spiritual support of your grace, and of your holy communion, and that we be modest saints, like you in Nazareth. Amen"
Seventh day
On the seventh day of the novena to Saint Joseph, this prayer should be performed at the beginning of the day:
“Oh Lord, just as by following the energy of your heavenly Father you agreed that your father on earth should suffer the most violent pain of losing you for three days, so we simply pray, through the conciliation of Saint Joseph, that before wanting to spill everything and embitter any friend, we renounce doing your will; that we may never lose you through lethal abandonment, or that if by misfortune we should perish you, we may find you through a good manifestation. Amen.”
Eighth day
When we meet on the eighth day, the person should make the following prayer as a meditation to be able to feel the peace and mercy of the saint while we ask him with faith what we need from him:
“Heavenly Jesus, who comforted your only father at the hour of his death, witnessing his final anguish with your Mother, his wife. ninth day
On the ninth day of the novena to Saint Joseph, it is advisable to place a white candle next to a glass of water so that he can see the path of our hearts and be able to find the goodness that we have, when placing these two offerings, the following prayer should be made :
"Oh perfect Jesus, just as you have chosen your father through your Vicar on earth to be the guardian of your Holy Catholic Church, so we acclaim you through Saint Joseph, award us that we are effective and frank Catholics, that we intervene without error the Catholic faith, that we live without fear a life worthy of the faith that we exercise, and that the enemies never manage to terrify us with surveillance, nor seduce us with traps and withdraw us from the only and indisputable religion that is the Catholic. Amen"

Prayer to Saint Joseph

Who was Saint Joseph?
This man, in addition to being the husband of Mary, the mother of Jesus, was also a direct descendant of David, Joseph lived in the town of Nazareth while doing carpentry as his profession, said man died long before his son Jesus began a public life.

The life of Saint Joseph was captured in the Gospels of Saint Matthew and Saint Luke due to the fact that they were descendants of King David. José at the time of marrying María was not aware that she was pregnant, however, being a kind man he did not denounce the secret.
Joseph was presented with an Angel who revealed to him that the son that Mary had in her womb had been conceived by the work of the Holy Spirit. Thirty years later, Herod died, allowing Saint Joseph to return to his city, but without his family, as he feared Herod's successor. As time went by, he took Mary and Jesus to Nazareth in Galilee to settle there and avoid being seen by those who wanted the little boy dead. Having a full life in Nazareth, he began to work as a carpenter and to create a cult among the small Christian communities to worship God.
Currently, Saint Joseph is venerated every first of May of each year, after Pope Pius XII proclaimed him in 1955, this happened after one hundred years of his recognition as patron of the universal church in 1870.
