In addition to its rich content in remixes, direct and unreleased songs (and for an amazing collaboration with Zatu and Andrés Calamaro on the theme Who does not?), the new work of Kase O, Inside the Circle, has caused quite a stir on networks due to the accusations of plagiarism issued by the producer $kyhook. Eye.
“Kase O copied a remix I did for him. I feel like Lechowski», the 24-year-old producer from Zaragoza, the man behind the sound of Pedro LaDroga and the person in charge of the disco-meeting moonchies, also released this 2019.
Don Kase O aka best-Spanish-MC-ever surprised locals and strangers by launching the mega pack of goodies a few days ago Inside The Circle. The beat that Kase O allegedly plagiarized from $kyhook is the one belonging to the song, Sad/Psycho prosaic mosaic. Kase 0 responded to the accusation with a tweet published two days later in which he assured that the songs "do not look anything alike":
"LOL! They don't look alike at all lol! The drums are different, the chords are different, the bass is different (mine is much cooler!). And in any case, I did the two instrumentals, one with your help. You have to get over my rejection and rebuild your life. Hahaha!"
In his tweet, Kase O incurs a certain contradiction by using the possessive pronoun «mine» (which evidences the existence of a «yours»), to later proclaim himself the author of the two productions. To understand a little better what has happened here (and since, in the humble opinion of this medium, it seems common sense to affirm that there is a certain resemblance between the two bases), we have decided to consult an expert in the field.
Why is Kase O's production so similar to $kyhook's?
What Kase O has done in his production is nothing more than raising the pitch of the cut. We consulted an industry insider, the good guy yeye (LOFUKI FESTIVAL), and this is what he has to tell us about it:
“When you change the pitch, generally the BPM and the frequencies of the sounds go up. That's why they sound very similar but different. When you change the pitch you also change the tone. You are accelerating the frequency of the wave of the note. It arises from physics itself, it is not a trick of the software. If you raise the pitch, the notes appear higher and vice versa. It is noticeable in that the tonality of the voice changes, the chords change and the BPM changes, making it sound like another song. The tonality of the theme is transposed. When you take a song and change its key, for example from C major to G major, although the interval relationship between notes is different, the distance in tones (the intervals) is the same, hence they cause a similar effect. The effect it has on your ear is very similar, that's why they look so much alike even though they're other notes."
Beef with Raphael Lechowski
It is not the first time that the authorship controversy surrounds Kase O. Already in 2016, on the occasion of the launch of The circle, he too man Rafael lechowski accused him of plagiarism (of conceptual type) in the song Trash (Strange Times), dominated by an intimate and gloomy tone in which Kase O released verses, literally, between tears. Lechowski came to brand the publication of said topic as "misguided, inopportune and disloyal"

In an interview with Frank T on Radio 3, Kase o acknowledged who had a hot first reaction in which, in private messages, he told Lechowski that he could not appropriate the crying: "You do not have the patent to get emotional," he wrote to his friend. Already cold, Kase pulled "love and friendship", offering to make a public statement in which he would admit that "perhaps a seed remained in my subconscious", (something that, in the same interview, Kase O admits is totally fake). "Magnanimous" as he claims to be, Kase O offered Lechowski a lie in order to help him promote him.

Kase O concluded the interview by stating that just as Lechowski had not copied Trash, he had not copied Lechowski "not even remotely" and called the accusation "ridiculous", but not before dropping that there were certain rappers on the Internet studying the metrics of old Lechowski songs in search of stylistic similarities with songs written by Kase O and Hate, from Violadores del Verso.
