Divine Child Jesus
This is a very beautiful devotion that has spread in Colombia where Jesus is honored as the Divine Child. It has been based on the words of Jesus when he said that whatever is asked in his name, he will do, so that his Father may be glorified in the person of his Son (John 14,13 ). history of devotion
It began in Colombia in 1907 with the Carmelites and later spread to the Salesian community. Many favors began to be received, which the devotees themselves began to spread, causing the devotion to grow. One of the first miracles granted dates back to 1915, which was recognized by Bishop Heladio of Cali. An 18-year-old girl fell ill with rheumatism and suffered severe pain. A priest was called to confess and receive last rites.
During one of these bouts of grief, her father went to get an image of the Divine Child and gave it to her, telling her to remember Jesus' words that if she asked for the merits of her childhood, her prayers would be heard. So they asked for the first twelve years of Jesus' life and if it was for the benefit of his soul that he regain his health. The young woman kissed the image and placed it at her feet. Prayer to the Divine Child Jesus for Difficult Times
Give me your blessing, Divine Child Jesus, and never stop praying for me. Take away from me any sin, and if at any time I stumble, extend your hand to lift me up. If I fall a hundred times, may you be there a hundred times to help me up. And if at any time I forget you, may you never forget me. If you leave me, what will become of me? Who will assist me in the dangers of the world?
Divine Child Jesus, today, in the face of these problems, I ask for your help. May you save me from the enemies of my soul. May you enlighten me in my moments of doubt, and may you comfort me in my sorrows and moments of loneliness.
In my illnesses give me the necessary strength, in moments of contempt you can give me the necessary encouragement not to fall into temptation, in my strongest and most difficult hours give me the consolation of your father's heart, give me the greatest love of your power, and protect me at the hour of my death to die in your arms and receive me by your side.
