blessings for the children
A blessing is an action that through words a person can bless another, declaring their well-being. God's original purpose for the earth was and continues to be to bless families, says his word in the book of genesis 12 (RVR 1960):
1 But the Lord had said to Abram, Get out of your country and from your kindred, and from your father's house, to the land i will show you. 2 And I will make of you a great nation, and I will bless you, and make you great your nameand you will be a blessing. 3 I will bless those who bless you, and whoever curses you I will curse; and all the families of the earth will be blessed in you.
God for the fulfillment of his purpose to bless the families of the earth. As well as for the message of his identity and destiny to be revealed in the hearts of the people. I delegate such responsibility to the parents of the families, both dad and mom. So parents have a God-given duty to bless and intercede for their children. Sending them the message of destiny and identity of God in them. But what is that message from God?
What does God tell us in his Identity Message?
God tells us that he loves us, that we mean everything to him, our life has as much value as the life of Jesus Christ. He considers us unique and accepts us as we are, he also tells us that we have the right to be loved and valued by others in the same way that he, being God and father, has loved us forever.
What does God tell us in his Destiny Message?
God tells us that we belong to him, that he created us with an established plan for each one of us and that no one else can carry it out for us. He also tells us that we are the only ones who can exercise the function of father or mother for our children, as well as sons or daughters for our parents. God tells us in his word that everything related to us is already fixed, our happiness is a fact for God. He tells us that he will never leave us, that he will never forsake us. God tells us that he made us to be prosperous, to be successful in whatever he calls us to do. He also reminds us that he entrusted us with a mission to be bearers of his message. The way in which we transmit that message will have repercussions on the mark we leave on whomever else.
The Responsibility of Parents to Give Blessings to Children
God did not appoint teachers, church leaders, pastors or tutors to carry his message of blessings for the children on earth. Both the father as priest of the family as well as the mother, ideal helper of the priest and complement of the couple established by God; They have all the duty and support of God to care for, watch over, intercede and bless their children.
Parents, through their actions, attitudes, and the way they communicate with their children, have the power to bless or deny their children's lives. They have the power and the responsibility to convey the correct message to their children, which is the message of God, as previously discussed. The message parents instill in their children's lives will determine their future.
So they must be careful what they speak or communicate to their children. Because the devil's message is contrary to God's. The devil says in his identity message: you are nobody, you are worthless, there is something strange in you, etc. While the devil's message of destiny is: I don't know why you were born, you shouldn't be here, you have no purpose, what hope can there be in you, everything you do is a failure, you will never succeed at anything.
That said, parents have a responsibility to nurture their children with the message they need to grow up with the right identity and destiny. So that they are true blessings for the children throughout their lives. This is the Purpose of God that children grow up in a family where there is a culture of blessing.
Blessings for children through prayer
Every child needs the blessing of their parents, and they have the support of God to bless them through prayer. Even the son of God, Jesus Christ, needed the blessing of his Father when he was on earth. Our Lord did not begin his ministry on earth until he received the blessing of his Father in heaven, Luke 3:22 in the La version. American bible (NASB) says:
22 and the Holy Spirit descended upon him in bodily form, like a dove, and a voice came from heaven, saying: You are my beloved Son, in you I am pleased
Only after this blessing from his heavenly Father did Jesus begin to perform miracles and evangelize. Parents must recognize the power of prayer to bless children. God has invested parents with authority to give blessings to their children. As well as to make statements about their lives, the blessing is an intercession for the future of the children.
When children receive the blessing of their parents they are delivered from many bad things. But also through it they receive God's blessing. Prayer allows us to invoke the blessing on our children, it is a way of entrusting their lives to God. Let us then make a prayer for the children and in total thank god:
Father I recognize that you are my God, that your love is infinite and your mercy is eternal,
Jesus Christ exalted your name which is above every name.
I declare that the heavens and the earth are one in you Jesus;
And that the Father in your name Jesus, incline his ears to listen
This cry for my children.
Thank you I give you for their lives, for their health, for their well-being
Help me Lord to guide them with your wisdom from above
Strengthen my love to discipline and educate them in all their ways
Thank you God, in the name of Jesus!
