Streets, squares, and access points to the Marian shrine have been overflowing with people coming to honor the Virgin of Guadalupe , many of them after traveling long distances on foot, by bicycle, or by public transport.

Local authorities in the Gustavo A. Madero borough have reported a massive influx of visitors in the days leading up to the Guadalupe festivities. On one of the designated days alone, approximately 3,5 million visitors were counted by 10:00 a.m. , a number that continued to rise throughout the day.
According to Mayor Jeancarlo Lozano, the recent total reached 4,5 million people who have visited the Basilica in a short period, with one million pilgrims registered between Friday, December 5th and Tuesday, December 10th. These figures support the official forecast that the total number of attendees will easily surpass 12 million throughout the entire event.
The Mexico City Secretariat of Citizen Security, headed by Pablo Vázquez Camacho , has indicated that, despite the enormous crowd, the situation has remained peaceful so far , with no serious incidents reported. The security official emphasized that the deployment began earlier than usual due to the early arrival of a large number of worshippers, something not seen in previous years.
As the hours pass and the pilgrimages progress, forecasts indicate that the total number of visitors could break attendance records from previous years . Health and pilgrim assistance operations
In response to this massive gathering , Mexico City health authorities have set up free medical care stations around the Basilica to assist any pilgrim who needs it. The goal is to quickly address common ailments at these types of events, such as heatstroke, dizziness, or leg pain resulting from long journeys and prolonged exposure to the elements.
In addition to immediate care, prevention efforts have been strengthened with the establishment of six measles vaccination sites .
