God's blessings

God's blessings are superabundant, the most important being the love for all his creation. God loves us all and equally his blessings reach us all in one way or another.

God will always want the best and the good for each one of us because his blessings do not have to be interpreted only as material riches. So that our creator is the source of all genuine blessings, of all forms of wealth, and no one, absolutely no one is exempt from receiving them, Jesus tells us:

Matthew 5:45 (NLT): This is how they will show that they act like their Father God, which is in heaven. He He is the one who makes the sun rise on the good and on the bad. The He is the one who sends the rain for the good of those who obey him and those who do not obey him..

Gratitude for God's Blessings

He who believes in God when he sees his life prosper or after some success achieved, thanks and praises God. The believer gives glory to his name for the blessings received, whether it is a house, a job, or simply thanks because God has been generous.

But not only success, prosperity, the material, represent the blessings of God for which we must thank the Lord. Because opening our eyes in the morning already represents a blessing from God, and that is to be alive, we should be grateful to him for our lives.

God is pleased with our gratitude through praise and prayers, with an attitude of happiness and joy. This is exactly what a believer experiences when God acts in his life.

Gratitude in a believer is a spiritual act, which is manifested in the prayer of thanks to God for his blessings. In this sense we invite you to offer him this precious prayer of thanks to God, because despite our infidelities, He always remains faithful.

Being grateful to God activates a spiritual power in the heavens to receive new blessings. With gratitude to God we are acknowledging that he is the source of everything received and not man.

1 Corinthians 4:7 (PDT): Who said that you are better than others? All you have, God has given to you. So why do you brag like you got it yourself?

Everything, including life itself, we have received from God. To thank God for his blessings is to acknowledge our total and complete dependence on him.

The prosperity of the wicked

There is a thought among men that is also biblical, it is often heard to say: "Those who do evil, do well." Those who corrupt the law without caring about morality, are often considered successful people because of the possession of goods and wealth.

However, this is a false prosperity because it does not come from God, it cannot be considered as blessings, what has been the product of man's cunning or trickery. This false prosperity is ephemeral and not pleasing in the eyes of the Lord, in the Bible the prophet Jeremiah tells God:

Jeremiah 12:1 (NLT): Lord, you always do me justice when I bring a case before you. So let me make this complaint to you: Why are the wicked so prosperous? Why are the evil ones so happy?

At the end of the passage God answers his prophet:

Jeremiah 12:13 (NLT): –My people sowed wheat but harvest thorns. She tried but it was no use. Will reap shame because of the fierce wrath of the Lord-.

Similarly, in the Bible we find a prophetic psalm of King David, which indicates the final path of the wicked. Relevant verses from this Psalm 37 in the NTV version are excerpted below:

1 Do not worry because of the wicked nor be envious of those who do evil.

3 Trust in the Lord and do good; then you will live safely on earth and you will prosper.

10 soon the wicked will disappear; No matter how hard you look for them, you won't find them.

11 The humble They will possess the land and they will live in peace and prosperity.

16 It is better to be fair and have little to be wicked and rich.

17 For the strength of the wicked will be shattered, But the Lord cares for the righteous.

God's blessings are not only material riches

The prosperity that comes from God is contrary to that achieved by the wicked, since they are blessings that generate new blessings. Furthermore, they are not ephemeral, God's blessings produce peace and joy, as well as the opportunity to accumulate eternal riches in heaven.

In this sense, we must be aware that God's favor is not only manifested in the form of wealth or material goods. Because if it were only like that, then the poor are not worthy of God's favor? If we thought like that, we would be imagining a materialistic and non-spiritual God.

Although it is true that in the Bible you can find characters whom God blessed with material wealth. In the same way, his blessings are manifested in his help and relief in difficult times, and it is that God blesses in multiple ways even in his justice.

The blessings of God manifested in His righteousness

While it is true that all humanity was justified or considered righteous in the eyes of God, through the grace and sacrifice of his Son Jesus Christ on the cross. We can only enjoy the blessing of this justification if every human being establishes it as a way of life.

In general, it is easy for every human being to receive God's blessings, but when the Lord applies his justice to us, we do not always welcome it. But the Bible teaches us that the natural manifestation of God as Judge is important as well as necessary, since his justice goes hand in hand with his divine holiness.

We as Christians accommodate ourselves better under the father figure of God, we prefer to see him as the good Father and friend, who loves us even with our defects. But when we make a mistake and God appears as a judge or counselor, we have a hard time accepting discipline.

A discipline that is a blessing manifested in its justice, because it builds us up. Making us better men and women:

2 Timothy 3:16-17 (NKJV): 16 All Scripture is inspired by God, and useful To teach, to reprove, to correct, to instruct in righteousness, 17 so that the man of God may be perfect, entirely Prepared for every good deed.

If you want to know even more about the justice of God, we invite you to enter here, God's justice: what is it and what does it consist of? Where you can learn how it was applied by the Lord in the Old Testament to the people of Israel, and how He manifests it to us in the present, be sure to enter!

The Bible says that God confers riches

The Bible teaches us that God can confer favors manifested in riches, there were several characters and servants of the Lord to whom he granted possessions and material goods. More however, such bestowal of blessings also had a purpose within his perfect plan, as well as a response to the obedience of these men.

A clear example where God confers riches is his servant Jacob, when he leaves the house of his father Isaac, he leaves only with a cane. Jacob settles on his uncle Laban's land and over the course of twenty years, is blessed by Jehovah God with a large flock of sheep, cattle and camels, to become independent from his mother-in-law.

What was God's purpose in blessing Jacob in this way? The first thing is that God always fulfills what he promises, and by blessing Jacob he was fulfilling the promise made to his grandfather Abraham. And the second is that the material blessing given by God to Jacob would serve to establish the foundations of the great nation of Israel, God promises Abraham:

Genesis 22:17-18 (NIV): 17 that I will bless you greatly, and that I will multiply your descendants as the stars of the sky and as the sand of the sea. Also, your descendants will conquer the cities of their enemies. 18 Since you have obeyed me, all the nations of the world will be blessed through your offspring.

How are God's blessings?

As stated before, God's blessings are not just material wealth and therefore being in prosperity is not the only indication of having the Lord's blessing or approval. Since the blessings of God are mainly clothed with a spiritual nature.

Here are some of God's blessings according to the Bible:

-They are healing and miracles for our lives, Acts 3:6 (RVC):

6 But Peter said to him: –I have no gold or silver, but what I have I give you. In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, arise and walk!-

-In faith we are blessed, Ephesians 1:3 (PDT):

3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ who has given us all kinds of spiritual blessings in heaven through Christ.

-A generous gift, John 1:16 (NBV):

Of the abundance that is in him, we have all received blessing upon blessing.

-They are of prosperity for the one who obeys his word, Psalms 1:2-3 (TLA):

2 God blesses those who love his word and happily study it day and night. 3 They are like trees planted by streams: When the time comes, they bear much fruit and its leaves do not wither. ¡Everything they do get it right!

How should our attitude be before God's blessings?

Depending on how our attitude towards life is, we can determine if we move away or attract blessings from God in it. Although the favors granted by God fulfill a purpose in people, they are also responses to obedience, honesty, service, how we behave with respect to others, etc.

Proverbs 10:4 (NASB): Poor is he who works with a careless hand, but the hand of the diligent enriches.

This means that if we keep an attitude of honesty, we are diligent in our work and wisely treasure the advice of the word of God. We will have all the possibilities to receive the favors of the Lord, living a life within the culture of the Kingdom of God brings with it a thousand blessings.

Proverbs 10:22 (NKJV-2015): The blessing of the LORD is that which enriches and does not add sadness with it.
